Done! Finaly! Having near to zero experience with illustrator made this a very time consuming and frustrating assignment. After a some hours cursing at the monitor and a few more cups of coffee I finaly managed to get the hang of it. But now that I've finished, I'm happy I saw it through. Looking back on what I knew of illustrator and what I've managed to create makes me feel a bit proud of myself. And yeah, I guess it wasn't as bad I has thought it would be, I'm actualy looking forward to the next assignement I'll be using illustrator for... but not untill I get a good night sleep!

So this holiday's been quiet busy so far. I've been doing a bit of this and a bit of that, as a result I only have some half finished projects... Since I do intend to post atleast weekly, here's a few preview on my conversion from sketches to vectors for 'The Perfect Woman' assignement. I'm really looking forward to making this in a shot animation.

It's been way to long since I've done some serious photography, I've been meaning to find some time to take some shots for a while now, but stuff keeps getting up and I end up forgetting about it. Well this week's assignements included photography for 2 subjects! Hooray, finally no more excuses, just me the camera and a whole world to explore. These are a few shots I took, the theme was crisis in paradise. All shots were made in Deventer, a beautiful and historical city, I had to get up very early, but it was worth the effort.

So, after making a whole bunch of sketches I realized I wasn't on the right track at all. After browsing the web I came across some fashion illustrations by "Hyungho Tim Lee". This reminded how much I've always admired this style of illustration, and so I started out practicing some basic female anatomy. So after finishing the body in 3 different angles I was supposed to draw the clothes over it with a red pencil, this where things started to look sort of messy... Aside from that and being reminded how bad I am at drawing realistic faces, I am actually pretty happy with the result. Now let's hope my teacher approves of my drastic change in style...

Some sketches based on "The perfect woman" photoshop I uploaded before. I've been struggling to make them less manga-ish, but I'm getting the feeling I'm on the right track now...
