I made this poster for a photography assignment... yeah photography. Well, I knew I wouldn't be able to make what I initially wanted to make, but this wasn't what I was expecting to make at all.  I do really like how it turned out even though the photography turned out to be a smaller element than I had intended it to be. Arguments to justify my decisions are already forming in my head, I'm actually looking forward to defend my work tomorrow!

I like black and white, I like high contrast, I like portraits. So for recreating a famous photographer's work Anton Corbijn was an easy choice.  With only a day left before the deadline I felt forced to lower my standards for choosing my models, I should really make some business cards and recruit people from the street whilst pretending to be an internationally known photographer.

For the animation I'm working we have to have one or two 'buttons', so I'll be giving Maurice a nice dilemma ... TO BE CONTINUED!

Though I finished my character designs for Maurice, Mrs Soul and APA2 this weekend I still felt I had to work on them some more, after some time reflecting on my work I found them to be kind of dull and lifeless.  So instead of trying to make them look nice and clean I decided to just make loads of really rough sketches, resulting in these two, I have one for Mrs Soul too, but I'm still not satisfied with how it turned out, so I'll be uploading that one later.

Me and a classmate made this poster for use in a presentation about our research on fonts.

Meet Maurice, Mrs Soul and APA20, these are three of my concept sketches for an animation project I will be working on next week, just gotta give Maurice some colour and I'll be set.

I took these old photo's I had and made them into a new series, each picture has one theme from the 6 we were allowed to work with, but frankly I can't really name any of them anymore. So forget about that and just enjoy the story!

A simple infographic about election seats (dutch politics and stuff), boring much? Still what's got to be made has got to be made...

Long post is long, another thing that's long is the time from now till my last post. I've had a lot on my plate this summer, fortunately I can focus on my studies again now. These are some quickies I did based on the gestaltgesetze or fundamental principles of perception. A set of rules on human perception, something really worth looking into, especially so if you're into graphic design.
